Welcome and introductory prayer

Minutes of the last meeting and matters arising.

The Organ Recital and Buffet made a profit of £380.

Purchase of new tables for the Fisher-More Hall still under consideration.

Action : this to be pursued.

Cleaning and general tidiness of the hall still an issue.

Action : a weekend to be set aside for reclaiming materials left in cupboards, before disposal.

Action : the cleaner’s hours to be discussed.

C Mc has notified the Chair of her resignation. RW  will take responsibility for Fisher More Hall and this area.

Parish Summer Celebration.

This to be Sunday July 13th.

Action : An appeal for volunteer helpers will be made on the bulletin.

A small planning group to meet on 5th June, 8 pm.

Correspondence

An email from LACE advertising a training course for Proclaimers of the Word has been received.

Action : interested parties to be approached.

Sub-groups reports

  1. Catechesis

76 children will receive First Communion and Confirmation.  Therefore 3 services will be necessary, namely 10.30 am and 3pm on 14th June, and 3 pm on 15th June.

Action : EMHCs to be arranged.

Action : 12 noon Mass to be cancelled and notice to be given to congregants

  1. Mission and Spirituality

Two Churches Together in Mossley Hill events  to be publicised in due course.

  1. Liaison with schools – nothing to report.
  2. Liaison with St. Mary’s

A talk on project Zimbabwe had been arranged although no one from the parish attended.

  1. Liturgy

Action : A training Day for all Readers to be arranged.

Charles Doyle has taken responsibility for the 8.30 readers rota

  1. Finance

It is hoped that a contract cleaner will be brought in to deep-clean the FMH in the near future.

A contract with a garden maintenance firm had been entered into.

Any Other Business

  1. Thanks for an anonymous donation it is hoped to increase the attractiveness of St. Gerard Majella’s  chapel by Oct. 16th.

Action : medals to be sourced.

Action : wall-hangings to be commissioned.

  1. A booklet  outlining the history and significance of the various features in the church to be produced, with non-Catholic visitors in mind using extracts from the church history written some years ago by CA
  2. Concern was expressed over the workload of the Parish Priest.

Action : Simplifying the daily and Sunday Mass schedules for the month of August to be considered.
