Parish Celebration of Carols 2017
This year the intention was to include the With You Alawys children more in the service. This was achieved wonderfully. Some of the children read reflections after the readings whilst others took part in a Nativity Tableau They shook their precussion instruments to 'It was on a starry night' and led us in a rendition of the calypso Carol. Thank you to all those who helped them prepare for the night and supported them on the evening.
Allerton Brass were as usual on great form, with pre and post service music, as well as the Little Drummer boy and Joy to the World during the Service.
Below is a slide show recording the evening.

The combined talents of the music groups from 10am and 6pm Masses (plus a couple of guests) provided us with beautiful music. Highlights included a rendition of Born on a New Day, and an instrumental version of Oh Holy Night
Fr. Tim thanked all those who took part and gave a Christmas blessing, which was followed by Allerton Brass playing some rousing music as the congregatipn headed to the Fisher-More Hall for mince pies and mulled wine
Message from Archbishop Malcolm in support of Catholic Education: The Government is about to make a critical decision on whether to overturn the admissions cap which prevents new faith schools from allowing all Catholic pupils to attend their own schools. While the Prime Minister acknowledges that it is discriminatory, the Secretary of State needs convincing. If you wish to make your voice heard, please visit: //catholicnews.org.uk/education-cap or search for Catholic Education. Thank you.

Kingsway house building on Hatton garden, Liverpool is open for the homeless nights until February...it's warm and dry and they do hot food. They will take homeless people with dogs - many shelters do not. If you see anyone on the streets let them know this facility exits.

Veronica Drury took us on a most entertaining journey through her life from childhood to the present.
Through anecdotes, pictures and music Veronica led us through many events of her life. She looked at family and its importance. Many of her stories, though personal to her family, echo through our own families. These stories were delivered with a good seasoning of her dry wit and more than a touch of wisdom.
Veronica was most ably assisted by Kathy Bamber who worked with her to prepare the photos and was Chief of IT for the presentation. Sincere thanks to Dave who prepared the music for the presentation.
I have said it before but I will repeat it - you are amazing.
Your response to the appeal to help homeless women has been outstanding. So many donations have been received.
Sarah McGeehan joined us on Tuesday 28 November to say thank you for your thoughtfulness and generosity. For those of you have not had the opportunity to donate Sarah will be accepting donations for the next couple of weeks.
Gifts may be left at the back of Bishop Eton Church after Mass.
