Latest from RYM
Thanks to all who came last Tuesday to watch a video on the work of Mary's Meals and who attended Anita's surprise birthday gathering. Thanks for getting involved with our fundraising. We're hoping to raise lots of money for Mary's Meals, and now have enough to feed an impressive 18 children for an entire school year!
Tuesday 5th June - Young Adult Group Emmaus walk.
We'll be walking from Bishop Eton to St Mary's, where we'll begin with prayers at the foot of the cross, and end with prayers to Our Lady. On the way, we'll talk in small groups, with the theme being JOY! We will then go to Reynolds park for a picnic and some games of football/tennis/etc for those athletically inclined. Bring anything snacky or sporty please! If it's raining, we've got a backup session in the Fisher More Hall then we will go to the pub!
Monday 18th June
Please note MONDAY rather than Tuesday for this one-off special. It's the first England game of the World Cup - England v Tunisia at 19:00. We thought we'd meet at the Halfway House at the earlier time of 6 pm, have some food and watch the match together. For those of you who can't make Mondays, or would prefer something spiritual on the Tuesday as usual, please just let us know and we will plan something for Tuesday too, as we don't want anyone to feel unincluded!
Saturday 23rd June - it's the Northern Catholic Conference at Hope University.
We're getting involved with a session for the teenagers, and it's always a great weekend for Catholics of all ages to explore aspects of their faith, so why not think about popping in?
Sunday 24th June - Mass, Sunday lunch and football.
Meet at Bishop Eton for 11:30 Mass, then we will go to the Halfway House afterwards for food and watch the England v Panama game at 13:00. Please note that as Mass will finish just 30 minutes before kick off, there's a chance we may not get a seat and will have to resort to a plan B and go elsewhere or abandon our lunch plans. But it's Mass that's the important part, right?

Eucharist is…Personal Vocation
Our sending out from Mass reminds us that we were changed too by our Baptism in which we received a call from God that is both universal and personal. That is our call to holiness and we are nourished in the Eucharist so that we can respond to that universal vocation by living in the way our personal vocation demands of us. With Blessed John Henry Newman, we can pray at Mass that many people will be open to the call of God in their lives.
