Thank you to those who were able to join us to celebrate our Founder’s Feast Day last Wednesday. It was a special joy to have Bishop Ralph leading the celebration. And our thanks to Fr Andrew, who not only preached but who made it possible for Fr Barrie O’Toole to travel from Ripon and concelebrate.


RYM—Are you 18-40? Why not join us for Mass and a drink? We're hoping to do this once a month, beginning this weekend (Sunday 5th August). We'll be going to 6.00pm Mass at Bishop Eton, followed by drinks at the Childwall Abbey. So come along and make some new Catholic friends from the parishes!

 Kris will be in the office Monday—Wednesday 9.00am—12.00pm for the next two weeks for anyone who needs to bring in DBS forms. If you are a new volunteer for Little Church, Parent and Toddler Group, Sacristy, J&P, WYA, music groups please come to the office to see Kris as soon as possible. If you are a leader of a group please email details of all your adult helpers/leaders.


Council 9 Knights of St Columba meet every 2nd Thursday of the month at meeting hall at the rear of St Francis of Assisi Church, Earp St, Liverpool L19 1RT.

The Funeral of Daniel Gee-Jamieson RIP will take place on Tuesday 31 July at 12.00 noon.

There will be no Parish Quiz Night or Coffee Morning on the 4th/5th August 2018. They will resume in September as usual.

August 2nd is the date of the liquidation of the 'Gypsy Camp' in Auschwitz-Birkenau in 1944.  But the 20,000 Sinti and Roma who died in Auschwitz represent only a fraction of the numbers of 'Gypsies' who suffered.

Professor Eve Rosenhaft will offer an account of the wartime events focussing on Romania and deportation of 25,000 Roma to Transnistria. Alexandra Bahor, community liaison officer with the Granby Toxteth Development Trust, whose grandparents remember the deportation, will talk about its long-term impacts and the situation of Roma in Europe and the UK today’.

This is a rare opportunity to hear about these events with Q&A.. All Welcome. There is no charge for this event but donations are always appreciated.

A session going deeper into the origins and meanings of two of the most well known and used prayers in the world... the Lord's Prayer and the Hail Mary. Followed by an end of year party in the Halfway House (or somewhere more exciting?! To be arranged!)

RYM - Exam Prayer Vigil at St Mary's Church 

Wednesday 15th August at 7 pm 

Students, parents and grandparents are welcome to join us in a simple, reflective and prayerful evening in church, the evening before A Level exam results day. This is open to GCSE, A Level and any students awaiting results, their families and friends.

You can come for any amount of time - we'll have reflections, lighting candles, prayer, silence, adoration, etc.

Closure of Dovedale Baptism Church

As some may have already heard, it is with great sadness that the members at Dovedale Baptist Church, have decided that the church will be closing in September.

The church on Dovedale Road will be open as part of the Heritage Open Days 2018 Weekend on Saturday 15th Sept 10am-4pm and Sunday 16th Sept 10.30am – 3 pm.

All will be welcome to the open days, and especially to join the congregation in a special service on Sun 16th Sept at 3.30pm to celebrate and give thanks for the work of the church over the 112 years since it was founded.

Please support the congregation and all who are served by Dovedale Baptist Church in your prayers over the coming weeks and by joining them on the weekend of 15th and 16th September.
