From CTMH: Thank you to all who supported the congregation at Dovedale this past week. The closing service on Sunday was a moving tribute to the congregation and a celebration of the 112 years of the church’s ministry.

Thank you to all who supported the congregation at Dovedale this past week.  Dovedale has been consistently active in Churches Together in Mossley Hill.  The closing service on Sunday afternoon was a moving tribute to the congregation and a celebration of the 112 years of the church’s ministry and mission.   The service was well attended including representatives from many of our local churches.

Every Tuesday at St Barnabas 10.30am - Noon

St Barnabas Church host a Lodge Lane Credit Union drop-in service in church. A full range of Credit Union services is available.

Also, Liverpool City Council has commissioned a drop-in support service, which is run by the Riverside Housing Floating Support Team and promotes the well-being and independence of vulnerable people in Liverpool. Advice on matters such as, budgeting, debt management, accessing benefits and finding/sustaining accommodation is available.

Tea and coffee is available between 10.30am and noon.

Penny Lane Mosque and Docker’s Steps

We begin with tour of the mosque and talk by the Mosque chairman and his wife. We will then walk to Sefton Park Aviary Café for our own sandwiches. From there, a walk to St Michaels Station for a train to Brunswick Station, and then a walk to the development at the old Herculaneum Docks, where there are the Dockers Steps and a mural showing events in Liverpool's history at the old Herculaneum Dock. Finishing with a walk back to St. Michaels Station.

Meet: outside TriBeCa on Smithdown Rd, ready to move off at just before 10.00 am (the mosque is just round the corner on Cramond Ave – former Co-op).

Grading: easy and flat (unless you choose to run up and down the 65 Dockers Steps) and mostly tarmac. About 4 miles.

Dress Code: A note about the dress code at the Mosque. We will be required to remove our shoes at the Mosque but women visitors do not have to cover their heads.

Bring: Travel Pass, Saveaway or Walrus Card, packed lunch, suitable clothing, and a mobile phone.

National Heritage Open Days – All Hallows

All Hallows is a Grade 1 listed building with a unique collection of Edward Burne-Jones windows. Visitors can view the church building and displays of the church groups. Visitors will receive a warm welcome from members of the church community, there are walk around guides available and a children's trail and quiz.

Closure of Dovedale Baptism Church

As some may have already heard, it is with great sadness that the members at Dovedale Baptist Church, have decided that the church will be closing in September.

The church on Dovedale Road will be open as part of the Heritage Open Days 2018 Weekend on Saturday 15th Sept 10am-4pm and Sunday 16th Sept 10.30am – 3 pm.

All will be welcome to the open days, and especially to join the congregation in a special service on Sun 16th Sept at 3.30pm to celebrate and give thanks for the work of the church over the 112 years since it was founded.

Please support the congregation and all who are served by Dovedale Baptist Church in your prayers over the coming weeks and by joining them on the weekend of 15th and 16th September.

The Greatest Story Ever Told – St Georges Hall

The Spectacular “The Greatest Story Ever Told” by  In Another Place, is back at St George’s Hall 10th to the 12th July with evening performances at 7 pm. Tuesday and Wednesday and 6 pm Thursday also daytime school performances. Tickets £7-£11  from  www.ticketQuarter.co.uk   See In another Place Web site  www.inanotherplace.com for details.

This theatre-in-the-round production gives a whistle-stop tour of the Bible aimed particularly at 7 – 77+-year-olds.  Each performance lasts for 2 hours inclusive of a 20-minute interval. The event features large props such as Noah’s ark and a life-size whale to swallow Jonah. It also has impressive screen visuals and things happening in every direction!  The large cast of around 300 individuals, includes community groups, choirs and those with additional needs.
