CTMH Update 5.9.18
Monday September 10th
CTMH SOCIAL WALKING GROUP
Penny Lane Mosque and Docker’s Steps
We begin with a tour of the mosque and talk by the Mosque chairman and his wife. We will then walk to Sefton Park Aviary Café for our own sandwiches. From there, a walk to St Michaels Station for a train to Brunswick Station, and then a walk to the development at the old Herculaneum Docks, where there are the Dockers Steps and a mural showing events in Liverpool's history at the old Herculaneum Dock. Finishing with a walk back to St. Michaels Station.
Meet: outside TriBeCa on Smithdown Rd, ready to move off at just before 10.00 am (the mosque is just around the corner on Cramond Ave – former Co-op).
Grading: easy and flat (unless you choose to run up and down the 65 Dockers Steps) and mostly tarmac. About 4 miles.
Dress Code: A note about the dress code at the Mosque. We will be required to remove our shoes at the Mosque but women visitors do not have to cover their heads.
Bring: Travel Pass, Saveaway or Walrus Card, packed lunch, suitable clothing, and a mobile phone.
Sorry, no dogs. Safety note: Those taking part must be responsible for their own safety as the Walking Group is informal and does not have insurance cover. A mobile phone must be brought, or shared with a partner.
