Parish Coffee Morning today after the 10.00am Mass. Also, the Repository—with First Communion cards and gift items for sale—all profits going to Project Zimbabwe.

Shirts and Ties for First Holy Communion boys will be distributed after 10.00am Mass TODAY the Fisher- More Hall.

6.00pm Sunday Mass. We have started trialling the use of the thurible during 6.00pm Mass in order to train our younger altar servers in its use. This will be dependant on there being enough altar servers, so the thurible may not be used each week.

RYM Rosary Walk: Since May is the month of Mary, on the evening of Tuesday 9 May the RYM will undertake a short Rosary walk from Bishop Eton to the neighbouring parish of St Mary’s, Woolton. The walk will conclude with evening prayer at St Mary’s, where there is a beautiful shrine to Our Lady of Lourdes. We will aim for a 7.30pm start at Bishop Eton, outside the Fisher-More hall, and we should be finished by about 8.30pm. There will then be the possibility of a sociable drink together.

Wednesday Lunch will take place on 10 May at 12.30pm in the Fisher-More Hall. All welcome.

AFTERNOON TEA - The One World Group are holding an Afternoon Tea Fundraiser on Sunday 14 May in the Fisher-More Hall. Tickets are £12 which includes a glass of Prosecco on arrival. Ladies and gents welcome. Contact Cath 07866 798158 or Sara 07947 120371.

BENCHMARK GIG.

Our own home-grown band will be performing on Friday 26 May in the Fisher-More Hall in aid of Project Zimbabwe.  (Benchmark has members from both the 10am & 6pm music groups, and our chief altar server amongst its ranks)

Tickets will go on sale next Sunday after Masses £5 for adults and £2.50 for children.

Bring your own refreshments.

Come along for Folk, Rock and Dance. It will be a great night.

Bereavement Support Group meeting will be on Tuesday 16 May from 2.00pm—4.00pm in the Hughes Meeting Room.

Each Friday the Divine Mercy Prayer group meet at 7.30pm in the Hughes Room and everyone is welcome.

Project Zimbabwe. Anyone who took a ‘Smarties’ tube at the recent ABBA night can pass their ‘coin’ filled tube to the parish office.

Clothes Sale. Many thanks to all who attended the clothes sale and helped to raise £1,040 for Street Child Africa with Chance for Childhood.

Ecumenical Prayer Meeting will be held at 7.30pm—8.30pm on Wednesday 10 May in the parlour of the Notre Dame Convent at Hope University Campus. Entry via the iron gates on Woolton Road opposite Bishop Eton.

Talking Newspaper

The Liverpool talking newspaper is a facility for the blind whereby audio memory sticks are created and distributed every month by post to members of the blind community in Liverpool. It relies on the help of volunteers and is looking for new members to attend a recording studio in Speke to read items of information to include on the memory stick. There is also a need for new recording technicians. Training will be provided for anyone interested in helping. Please phone David Keane on 428 -2509 for further information

We aspire to be a Dementia Friendly parish, the Archdiocese has arranged a one day conference by Professor June Andrews, author of Dementia The One Stop Guide.
