Fr Tim returns later this week ready for the First Holy Communions which will be held at 10.00am and 3.00pm Saturday and 3.00pm Sunday.

PLEASE NOTE: there will be no 12.00 noon Mass on Saturday 20 May and no Sacrament of Reconciliation in the afternoon in order to accommodate the two First Communion Masses. 

Catholic Pic. Please take a free copy of the Catholic Pic. In this May edition there is a profile (written by a parishioner) of Dennis Hardiman, one of our parishioners, who collected his MBE in Liverpool on 11 May. Many congratulations Dennis.

The SVP monthly collection will take place after all Masses today. Thank you for your generosity.

SVP food collection. Please leave your donations at the Monastery weekdays 10.00am—6.00pm. Cans, pasta, rice and non-perishables gratefully accepted. Thank you.

6.00pm Sunday Mass. We have started trialling the use of the thurible during 6.00pm Mass in order to train our younger altar servers in its use. This will be dependent on there being enough altar servers, so the thurible may not be used each week.

RYM trip to Showcase Cinema. The group will meet this evening, in the Showcase Cinema (340 E Lancashire Rd, Liverpool L11 9YJ) at 6:00pm to buy tickets and then get a bite to eat adjacent for 7:30pm showing of Beauty and the Beast.

BENCHMARK GIG. Our own home-grown band will be performing on Friday 26 May in the Fisher-More Hall in aid of Project Zimbabwe.

Tickets will go on sale this Sunday after Masses.

£5 for adults; £2.50 for under 18’s.

Bereavement Support Group meeting will be on Tuesday 16 May from 2.00pm—4.00pm in the Hughes Meeting Room.

Each Friday the Divine Mercy Prayer group meet at 7.30pm in the Hughes Room and everyone is welcome.

Women’s Group will be holding a Gin Tasting night on Friday 19 May in the Fisher–More Hall.

Project Zimbabwe. Anyone who took a ‘Smarties’ tube at the recent ABBA night can pass their coin filled tube to the parish office.

Nugent Charity Shop on Allerton Road is in urgent need of stock consisting of clothing, books, bric-a-brac, shoes and handbags. Liverpool Health and Wellbeing Board is consulting on the pharmacy needs of the local population.

The Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment is a statutory document that assesses the pharmacy needs of the local population and will be used as the framework to inform commissioning pharmacy services for the next three years.  This includes dispensing chemist services as well as public health and other services that pharmacies may provide.

Talking Newspaper

The Liverpool talking newspaper is a facility for the blind whereby audio memory sticks are created and distributed every month by post to members of the blind community in Liverpool. It relies on the help of volunteers and is looking for new members to attend a recording studio in Speke to read items of information to include on the memory stick. There is also a need for new recording technicians. Training will be provided for anyone interested in helping. Please phone David Keane on 428 -2509 for further information

We aspire to be a Dementia Friendly parish, the Archdiocese has arranged a one day conference by Professor June Andrews, author of Dementia The One Stop Guide.
