FROM FR TIM
PENTECOST: Pentecost or Whit Sunday is often described as the birthday of the Church. It is the day on which the shackles finally came off the minds and hearts of the apostles and, enlivened by the gift of the Holy Spirit, they fearlessly began the mission of proclaiming the good news of Jesus. I suggest we use this feast to pray that the Spirit of God will free us from anything that prevents us from being similarly fired with an enthusiasm to spread the word today.
The house and grounds. After months of turmoil with the renovation of the monastery, the felling of badly decaying trees in the grounds and the associated problems with parking etc, as spring turns to summer, it is a joy to see everything looking so neat and tidy. Thank you for your patience over the past months and above all thank you to those who have made it possible: you know who he is!
Sick List. We are finding it difficult to keep the list up to date because everyone for whom we are asked to pray is not necessarily a parishioner. It will be helpful if people recover or sadly die that you let the parish office know. We plan to tidy up the list in the coming weeks. Obviously we will keep praying for all those whom we know remain unwell, but if there is someone on the list whom you particularly wish to keep on the list and whom we may not know, please inform the parish office.
Invitation to Prayer: We will meet to pray together on Wednesday 7 June at 6.00pm at Hope University Chapel. There will be tea and coffee afterwards and we will be finished by 7.00pm. WE INVITE YOU TO JOIN US.

CHURCH PARKING:
Please can everyone using the car park take extra care and adhere to the NO PARKING signs. Cars are regularly blocking access routes and parking on double yellow lines obstructing the free flow of traffic and pedestrians.
ALSO,
- recently the concrete bollard which had only just been replaced was bumped into;
- the wooden flower beds outside the Monastery was severely damaged, after so much hard work had gone into replanting them,
- cars are constantly being scraped.
In most of these cases NO-ONE has informed the monastery that they have caused any damage. Please park responsiblyand manoeuvre carefully to avoid damaging any property.
