Lady Chapel: It has been decided to delay the start of the work for a fortnight. The number of special occasions, including weddings, during this time would have caused a series of delays, which would have hampered the vital first phase of the contract.

August: There will be no 7.00am Mass on weekdays during the coming month. It will recommence on Monday, 4 September. We thank Fr Charles and Bro Michael for  providing doughnuts, tea and coffee after the last 7.00am on Friday morning. It was a huge success and attended by nearly all the congregation.

Also there will be no Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament until further notice.

Mission Appeal: On Sunday 13 August, Sr Adelina of the Holy Spirit Missionaries will make the statutory annual appeal at all the Masses in both parishes, except the 10.00am at Bishop Eton. Maybe we could still take a collection for her order’s work after the Mass!

Redemptorist Student Appeal: A big ‘thank you’ to Bro Michael for the appeal on the Solemnity of the Most Holy Redeemer: well over £2,000 was collected from the two parishes.

The Funeral of Helena Barton RIP will take place on Wednesday 2 August at 12.00 noon.

Holy Hour Adoration at 7.30pm on Friday 4 August. Please come and join us.

Friends of the Holy Land Mass for peace and justice for our fellow Christians in the Holy Land will take place on Saturday 5 August at 12.00 midday.

A note of thanks from Bishop Eton SVP: Members of the Parish will be aware that food and goods kindly donated from our Parish are delivered alternately to the South Liverpool Food Bank and to the Sisters of Divine Mercy in Seel Street, for their work with the homeless. To support their work the SVP will offer a further opportunity to make donations of tinned and other storable foods. A box will be available in the Church entrance, before each mass when the usual monthly collection is made,  beginning next week 6 August. Again, thanks for all the support you give to help the SVP to help others.

Please can everyone using the car park take extra care and adhere to the NO PARKING signs. Cars are regularly blocking access routes and parking on double yellow lines obstructing the free flow of traffic and pedestrians.

  • recently the concrete bollard which had only just been replaced was bumped into;
  • the wooden flower beds outside the Monastery was severely damaged, after so much hard work had gone into replanting them,
  • cars are constantly being scraped.

In most of these cases NO-ONE has informed the monastery that they have caused any damage. Please park responsibly and manoeuvre carefully to avoid damaging any property.
