Wednesday 7.30pm:

Novena in honour of our Lady of Perpetual Succour.

Rosary: 11.30am Monday—Saturday.

No Rosary before funerals.

Sacrament of Reconciliation:

On Saturday from 4.00pm to 5.00pm and at call.

LENT: In spite of the freezing conditions, it has been very edifying to see how many of you still managed to attend even weekday Masses during the past week. Thank you for your good example.

We are now well into Lent, so may I remind you that as always we will offer many opportunities for those of you who wish to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation before the Easter Triduum, which begins on Maundy Thursday.

There will be a Pastoral Area Reconciliation Service on Wednesday 21 March at 6.30pm in Hope University Chapel.

We will also have Reconciliation Services as usual in our two parishes at the beginning of Holy Week:

Monday 26 March at 7.30pm in St Mary’s and Tuesday 27 March at 7.30pm in Bishop Eton.

Priests will be available after all the weekday Masses during the last two weeks of Lent and of course you may always call at the monastery and ask for a priest at any reasonable time on any given day.

LEARNING TO SIGN THE MASS: Some of our young people will be learning to sign parts of the Mass before the evening Mass at St Mary’s on Saturday 10 March. If you wish to take part please go to the Parish Centre at St Mary’s at 4.00pm on that day.

EVENING PRAYER with the pastoral area clergy will take place in Hope University Chapel this Wednesday Evening (7 March) at 6.00pm. Refreshments are offered in the chaplaincy afterwards.

PLANNED GIVING: The boxes for the next financial year may be collected today and next weekend. We have begun early because we want to leave the weekend of Archbishop Malcolm’s visit free. There will be refreshments in the Fisher- More Hall after all the Masses that Sunday (18 March).

The Funeral of Anthony Davies RIP will take place on Monday 5 March at 12.00 noon.

Please pray for the family of Joanne Gaul RIP who died earlier this week. Her funeral will be held at Bishop Eton on Wednesday 14 March at 12 noon.

SVP monthly collection will take place after all Masses today. Thank you for your generosity.

Parish Coffee Morning today after the 10.00am Mass. Also, the Repository with all profits going to Project Zimbabwe and Millennium Crafts with Easter gifts.

RYM: Tuesday 6 March at 7.30pm in the Hughes Meeting Room at Bishop Eton, we will take a reflective journey and accompany Mary during her Son's passion.focus will be on the 5 sorrowful mysteries of the rosary accompanied by music & art from Sieger Koder. All welcome.

BELL: Bishop Eton Lending Library, meet this Wednesday 7 March, in the Hughes Room 2.00pm—4.00pm.  Refreshments will be available. All welcome.

Altar Servers practice for the visit of the Archbishop will take place on Thursday 8 March at 6.00pm.

MISSIO Mill Hill:Total of donations from Bishop Eton for 2017 is £7169.39. Many thanks to all box holders, and promoters for their work.will be emptying the red   boxes in the next few weeks. If anyone would like a red box or willing to help collect, contact Ann Monaghan 737 1599.

St Mary's, Bishop Eton, St Peter's and St James in collaboration with Woolton Community Life are hosting a meal on Christmas Day for people in the local community who will spend Christmas Day alone.will be a fundraising event in St Mary's Hall on Friday 20 April, 7.00pm. Stations of the Cross

St Mary's church will be open on Saturday 3rd March at 11am for anyone wishing to make a personal stations of the cross. In addition Our Lady of the Assumption in Gateacre is holding stations on the cross each Friday in Lent at 11.30.

Upcoming RYM events

Reflection at the foot of the cross 20.3.18

Join us for the third of our Lenten themed RYM sessions. Our last session before Easter will be a short candlelit reflection at the foot of the cross. It will take place in Bishop Eton church.

Afterwards, we will go for a meal and drinks at the newly refurbished Childwall Abbey! 

Youth Retreat late June 2018

We're planning a young adult retreat there in summer and I would HIGHLY recommend it! We'll be organising it and giving more information over the coming weeks, but in case you want to put it in your diaries now, it'll be Fri 29th June - Sun 1st July. They are looking for volunteers to support their clients in the social aspects of their lives; it could be anything from spending an hour a week having a chat over a cuppa or to going along and helping staff to support a group out on a social trip. They are looking for everything from befrienders to drivers, the list is endless! Netherley Youth & Community Foodbank

 WANT TO BE PART OF SOMETHING AMAZING?

In February 2017, a group from St Peter’s Church – Woolton visited a project in Curitiba, Brazil that they support. Encontro com Deus (ECD) works to rebuild lives and families impacted by, or at risk from domestic violence and abuse. Another trip is being planned for February 2019 and this time the intention is to build a group that includes people from other churches in the area.
