FROM FR TIM
Greetings from the Emerald Isle…I am thoroughly enjoying the Novena at the Redemptoristine Convent in Dublin. The response has been encouraging and even more remarkable the number of people who tune into the webcam to follow the services: the last figure quoted was approaching three and a half thousand. The sessions, which include the celebration of Mass, are at 9.30am and 8.00pm each day. If anyone is interested the web address is www.rednuns.com . We finish on Tuesday evening and I return to Liverpool Wednesday night.
The Funeral of Steven Rosenthal RIP will take place on Wednesday 26 September at 12.00 noon.
The Annual Mass Count begins today and on each Sunday for the next four weeks at all Masses. The help of the collectors is very much appreciated for this task. Slips to note the numbers are available in the Sacristy.

Pope Francis: Reflections on The Joy of Love (Amoris Laetitia)
Each week we will be providing an excerpt on the Pope's letter for you to read and reflect on. The reflections have been made available by the Archdiocese’s Adult Faith Formation department.
"A family marked by loving trust, come what may, helps its members to be themselves and spontaneously to reject deceit, falsehood, and lies.”
(Amoris Laetitia, 115)
In a trusting context, one has no need to hide. Children who grow up in this context will know that they will be accepted always, and so will have the courage to own up to shortcomings. Examine your conscience this week about whether you’ve fallen into suspicion, unfair judgment, or seeming to withhold your love due to a shortcoming of a family member.

Perfumed Rosary Beads
St John Vianney’s Parish Sister, Sister Mary, who is now housebound, makes ‘real’ Rosary beads from real rose petals thus producing perfumed beads. She buys the accessories from overseas and then takes a couple of months preparing the crushed rose petals, until ready for beading. Sister then hand assembles the beads, the chains and crucifix complete with their presentation box, they are so blessed! Sister produces these to help raise much needed funds for those in Bangladesh who have had their villages and churches destroyed by floods. A set costs £10 and are available by ringing the Parish Office of St John Vianney, Halewood.

Kerala Floods - An SVP Appeal
Terrible floods have been taking place in Kerala in southern India. Hundreds of people have been killed and many more are missing; countless homes have been washed away and the monsoon season is set to continue until early September.
Kerala is the most Christian state in India – it has more churches than any other region.
The leading Catholic volunteering charity, the St Vincent de Paul Society (SVP), is very active there and they are doing great work helping the victims of the flood in local communities.
However, they desperately need funds.
Please contribute to the SVP’s Kerala appeal.
To donate visit www.svp.org.uk, telephone 020 7703 3030 or send
cheques made out to SVP (write ‘Kerala appeal’ on the back) to SVP,
Romero House, 55 Westminster Bridge Road, London SE1 7JB.
Please remember our sisters and brothers in Kerala in your prayers.
Thank you for your help and support.

Animate… Inspiring Life and Soul
Animate is the Youth Service of the Archdiocese of Liverpool and was set up as a response to people in the Diocese naming Youth Ministry as one of their top 3 priorities to be addressed. Each month they run a ‘Life and Soul’ service. It consists of a period of Adoration accompanied by modern and traditional hymns.
The next 2 sessions will be held on
