FROM FR TIM
We have successfully celebrated Adoremus and given thanks for the blessings surrounding the ‘World Meeting of Families’ and Pope Francis’s visit to Ireland.
Also, I am grateful to have had the opportunity in the last few months to have been able to exercise our special Redemptorist charism by preaching Novenas in London and Dublin as well as spending a few days with the Military Chaplains.
As we move into the autumn I would like to continue to take stock with you as to how best we can plan the immediate future of our two parishes.
Meanwhile, the Redemptorists are continuing to encourage us to plan thoughtfully for the future and this week we will know the names of the confrères who will meet for our Provincial Chapter in January. We will remain positive and focused because the Lord promised he would always be with us and his peace is the gift which puts everything into perspective.

Pope Francis: Reflections on The Joy of Love (Amoris Laetitia)
Each week we will be providing an excerpt on the Pope's letter for you to read and reflect on. The reflections have been made available by the Archdiocese’s Adult Faith Formation department.
“Love bears every trial with a positive attitude. It stands firm in hostile surroundings. This ‘endurance’ involves not only the ability to tolerate certain aggravations, but something greater: a constant readiness to confront any challenge. It is a love that never gives up, even in the darkest hour”
(Amoris Laetitia 118).
Every family endures hard times. Recall one such hard time and try to see what good God may have drawn out of it for your family, or, if you can’t see that yet, what you hope he will draw out of it.

She buys the accessories from overseas and then takes a couple of months preparing the crushed rose petals, until ready for beading. Sister then hand assembles the beads, the chains and crucifix complete with their presentation box, they are so blessed! Sister produces these to help raise much needed funds for those in Bangladesh who have had their villages and churches destroyed by floods. A set costs £10 and are available by ringing the Parish Office of St John Vianney, Halewood.

Terrible floods have taken place in Kerala in southern India. Hundreds of people have been killed and many more are missing; countless homes have been washed away.
Kerala is the most Christian state in India – it has more churches than any other region.
The leading Catholic volunteering charity, the St Vincent de Paul Society (SVP), is very active there and they are doing great work helping the victims of the flood in local communities.
However, they desperately need funds.
Please contribute to the SVP’s Kerala appeal.
To donate visit www.svp.org.uk, telephone 020 7703 3030 or send
cheques made out to SVP (write ‘Kerala appeal’ on the back) to SVP,
