FRIDAY IS THE COMMEMORATION OF ALL SOULS
As usual there will be a box in the church throughout November for the names of all our loved ones who have died.
RESETTLEMENT PROGRAMME. A team member will give a short update at the end of all the Masses this weekend.
QUESTIONNAIRE: I hope you have remembered to fill in and return your questionnaires so that we can get a snapshot of how people are feeling. It was good to receive encouraging comments about the initiative.
Half-Term: I hope those who were able to enjoy a break are returning refreshed for the run-in to Christmas. I managed to slip away myself for three days last week.
St Mary's and Bishop Eton Women's Group meet Tuesday 30 October at 12.30pm in the Fisher-More Hall. Janet Hollinshead will be talking about the War Memorial in the Grounds. Tea and coffee available. Bring your own packed lunch.

Parish Coffee Morning next Sunday after the 10.00am Mass. Also, the Repository with Advent and Christmas items. All profits going to Project Zimbabwe.
ALL VOLUNTEERS PLEASE NOTE-very important: Kevin Harvey (the Archdiocese H&S Representative) has flagged up an issue that has arisen in some Parishes. If you do any regular jobs at the church OTHER than at Mass times (eg cleaning, counting money, reception duty etc) and you DRIVE to church, please inform your motor insurers that you do voluntary work at church. There should be no increase in your premium. There have been instances of Parishioners who have had traffic accidents coming out of church and their insurers have not settled the claim due to being unaware of the drivers’ voluntary duties.
Christmas Day: There will be a meal hosted on Christmas Day this year in St Mary's Hall from 1-4pm. It is a collaborative community event hosted by RYM, St Mary's & Bishop Eton's SVP, St Peter's Woolton, St James' Woolton & Woolton Community Life and will be sponsored by Tesco in Woolton.
A meal is being provided free for anyone who will be on their own Christmas Day irrespective of religion or income. It is not a charitable event, simply a way of offering fellowship & community on such an important day of the year.
Project Zimbabwe. A very big thank you for all your support. As things remain difficult in Zimbabwe, 'Together we can make a difference'. The meal at Eton Place was a great success. With donations, we raised £550. A big thank you to Benchmark who donated £100.

Perfumed Rosary Beads
St John Vianney’s Parish Sister, Sister Mary, who is now housebound, makes ‘real’ Rosary beads from real rose petals thus producing perfumed beads. She buys the accessories from overseas and then takes a couple of months preparing the crushed rose petals, until ready for beading. Sister then hand assembles the beads, the chains and crucifix complete with their presentation box, they are so blessed! Sister produces these to help raise much needed funds for those in Bangladesh who have had their villages and churches destroyed by floods. A set costs £10 and are available by ringing the Parish Office of St John Vianney, Halewood.
