FROM FR TIM
As the centenary of the Armistice at the end of the First World, today carries very special significance. Like me, many of you will have direct connections with those who fought in what was supposed to be the war to end all wars. As we remember and have our special services at the War Memorials, I suggest we redouble our prayers for peace and vow to do all we can to end the conflict in our own lives
The Redemptorists of the London Province lost two priests in the First World War Fr Bernard Kavanagh C.SsR and Fr Charles Watson C.Ss.R. Recently Fr Richard visited Fr Kavanagh's grave in Jerusalem, see more on the Province website click here
Anniversary of the Foundation of the Redemptorists
Last Friday, the Feast of the Dedication of the Lateran Basilica, Redemptorists all over the world celebrated their 286th Birthday. At this time, Fr Michael Brehl, our General, has asked us to pray for God’s special blessing on our missionary vocation. His message for today (Redemptorist Vocation's Sunday) can be read by clicking here.
There will be a meeting, open to all those who are interested, to reflect on the responses to our recent questionnaire and to select our parish representative for the Diocesan Synod in the Fisher-More Hall on Monday 19 November at 7.00pm. We will have an independent chairperson: someone who is not a parishioner and with a wealth of experience in the field has offered his services.
Please remember the questionnaire arose from Pope Francis’s letter to “The People of God” and Fr Michael Brehl’s letter to the Redemptorists. Both are available via our website.

Fr Barrie O’Toole:
I managed to visit Fr Barrie last Thursday and we had some quality time together. His wonderful sister, Pat, cares lovingly for him and we are immensely grateful to her. He was in good form, but he is weaker and now needs a walking frame. He assured me that the medics are keeping him pain-free. He is very grateful for all your concern and your prayers and asked me to greet you all and assure you of his prayers for us.

Volunteering and driving - please read.
ALL VOLUNTEERS PLEASE NOTE
Kevin Harvey (the Archdiocese H&S Representative) has flagged up an issue that has arisen in some Parishes. If you do any regular jobs at the church OTHER than at Mass times (eg cleaning, counting money, reception duty etc) and you DRIVE to church, please inform your motor insurers that you do voluntary work at the church. There should be no increase in your premium. There have been instances of Parishioners who have had traffic accidents coming out of the church and their insurers have not settled the claim due to being unaware of the drivers’ voluntary duties.
