FROM FR TIM
SYNOD AND PULPIT SWAP:
This weekend the priests of the Pastoral Area are swapping parishes once again. We welcome Fr Matthew Nunes, parish priest in Halewood and one of those masterminding the Synod. I know you will give him a warm welcome.
We will be linking our liturgies with the Solemn Opening of the Synod in the Cathedral last Sunday. The more interested and involved we all become, the more likely the Synod will bear much fruit. Like Isaiah and Jesus’ disciples in today’s readings, let’s be open to the call of the Lord. Please take a Synod prayer card from the porch.
As you know, this wonderful country is facing renewed turmoil at this present time. This Monday, Frances Sibert (Bishop Eton) and Gill Bickerstaff (St Mary’s) are flying there to work on the Redemptorist mission for the next few weeks. We wish them safe passage and every blessing in this venture and assure them of our daily prayers.
BISHOP RAYMOND MUPANDASEKWA:
You may remember that last year our Regional Superior in Zimbabwe, Fr Raymond, was ordained Bishop of the Diocese of Chinhoyi, north of Harare. A few days ago he wrote asking if it were possible to have a special appeal here in Liverpool for the poor people of his Diocese.
I quote: “We have been to hell and back. We are with the wounded and the traumatized in safe houses.”
With all the appeals that we have and all the help you give to so many good causes, I do not feel it is right to burden you with yet another special appeal. However, if anyone feels able and would like to give him some help, could you just pop something in an envelope, marked ‘Bishop Raymond’ and I will ensure that he receives it.

The Venerable Fr Bernard Łubieński, CSsR:
Please take a leaflet and prayer card from the porch. Any information about graces received through Fr Łubieński's intercession should be sent to Fr Andrew (Fr Rector - Bishop Eton, Woolton Road, Liverpool UK L16 8NQ)
PARISH VOLUNTEERS PLEASE NOTE:
Kevin Harvey (Archdiocesan H&S Officer) flagged up an issue that has arisen in some parishes around the archdiocese. There have been instances of parishioners who have had traffic incidents travelling to and from church and their insurers have not settled the claim due to being unaware of the drivers’ voluntary duties. If you do any regular jobs at, or on behalf of the church (e.g. cleaning, counting money, Eucharistic Ministers visiting the sick and housebound etc.) and you use your car, please inform your motor insurers that you do voluntary work at church. There should be no increase in your premium, but it is still advisable to inform them. Thank you

Follow your dream
`Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts. His glory fills the whole earth.’ Isaiah was sustained by his vision of God in glory; Paul by his vision of Jesus. On our wedding days, we had a dream for our future together. The grace of God has sustained that vision through many struggles. Let’s always seek to follow our dream.
