There will be a meeting, open to all those who are interested, to reflect on the responses to our recent questionnaire and to select our parish representative for the Diocesan Synod.
The meeting will be held in the Fisher-More Hall on Monday 19 November at 7.00pm.
We will have an independent chairperson: someone who is not a parishioner but who has a wealth of experience.
Please remember the questionnaire arose from Pope Francis’s letter to“The People of God” and Fr Michael Brehl’s letter to the Redemptorists. Both are available via our website.
Psalm 71:9 says “Do not cast me in the time of my old age; forsake me not when my strength is spent.” Pope Francis states “This is the plea of the elderly, who fear being forgotten or rejected … We must reawaken the collective sense of gratitude, of appreciation, of hospitality, which makes the elderly feel like a living part of the community”
(Amoris Laetitia 191)
Do you have elderly people in your family or community who may sometimes fear being forgotten or rejected? What have do you do to show them gratitude, appreciation and hospitality as part of their daily lives?
