Merseyside Council of Christians and Jews 7.30pm on Thursday 2nd August

August 2nd is the date of the liquidation of the 'Gypsy Camp' in Auschwitz-Birkenau in 1944. But the 20,000 Sinti and Roma who died in Auschwitz represent only a fraction of the numbers of 'Gypsies' who suffered.

Alexandra Bahor, community liaison officer with the Granby Toxteth Development Trust, whose grandparents remember the deportation, will talk about its long-term impacts and the situation of Roma in Europe and the UK today’.
